I enjoy working with people and helping them to achieve a healthier way of life. Much of my time in the field has been spent working with issues related to adolescents, couples, parent/child relationships, gambling addiction, communication, and women of all ages.

Goal:

I work with couples, individuals, and families to help create change where it is desired (or needed) in order to help people lead a healthier and more positive way of life. Each person must ultimately choose his or her own goal(s) and be committed to the process in order to reap the benefits of therapy and the new knowledge that can be gained, which can promote change.

Therapeutic Approach:

With my formal educational training in family systems and the culmination of my own life experiences, I believe that we are all connected to a bigger system of people including our nuclear and extended families as well as other groups of people that impact our lives on a daily basis, ie: colleagues, friends, neighbors, faith communities, etc., and we learn from all of these systems but ultimately get to choose what we want to take from them and what we want to create on our own. Each of these systems fall on a continuum of flexibility and rigidity, which directly impacts our ability to change and create our own sense of self within each system. With support and a sense of security, I believe change can occur. Each person must ultimately choose his or her own goal(s) and be committed to the process in order to reap the benefits of therapy and the new knowledge that can be gained, which can promote change to occur.

Insurance and Fees:

I am an in-network provider for both Medical Assistance and BlueCross/BlueShield of Minnesota. Since I am a licensed professional in the state of Minnesota, some insurance companies do reimburse for services if out-out-network benefits apply. For those choosing to pay cash for service, I do offer a bookkeeping discount when payment is made at the time of service.
